I have found Kratom in some ways a life saver. For many years I have struggled with insomnia, depression and anxiety. Not all the time but it has been quite present in my life. Having gone through the route of anti depressants which I can honestly say made me feel worse (and caused me to suffer many adverse side effects- lack of self esteem, weight gain, nausea, headaches, pain in my liver and other organs), I find Kratom to be a much healthier and holistic route for many ailments.
it also enabled me to conquer and addiction to sleeping pills and pain killers (an addiction I developed ironically enough because of the inability of anti depressants to work).
I cannot speak highly enough of Kratom, I take it or leave it as I wish in small quantities and feel all the better for it. I also happen to feel more alert, and in some ways more spiritual and connected to the world and life, less withdrawn and less judgemental. This could be co-incidental but I feel that all things must be considered and since I have been taking Kratom many things have changed for the better and I feel a more positive person.
Having served in the British army in Belfast in the 70s I was severely injured during the riots snd have spent a lifetime on medication but since discovering Kratom I have been able to give up all medicines and hold down a proper job. It’s given me a new lease of life. If Kratom is banned I will be a burden on the NHS, I will have to give up work and rely on State benefits. This will clearly affect my mental health.
Kratom is safe, effective, beneficial and non-addictive despite people who are against Kratom saying that it is.
The real and genuine reason the FDA want to Ban Kratom is because has a lot of benefits for the Human Body.
Big Pharma has told the FDA to quickly Ban Kratom because the Big Pharma know how good Kratom is. And they are scared that this powerful herb will take over their medications in years to come. That’s the reality.
I have had multiple spinal and cervical surgeries due to injuries sustained in accident in 2001. I have taken ever increasing doses of opioid meds for years. Two years ago I attempted (unsuccessfully) to come off opioid meds. A friend recommended I tried kratom to help with chronic pain and wean myself off opiods. I have taken kratom for 18 months with great success. Not only have I had pain relief, but pain relief with minimal opioid withdrawal symptoms. I have no doubt that kratom has helped to save my life and without it I would have been hopelessly dependent on opioids. I now enjoy life and feel that I have been given a second chance. Please don’t ban kratom, I dread to think of what might happen if it is banned.
i have cerebral palsy and kratom has eased my pain plus given me the energy and confidence to live my life better. i have had no side effects and its none addictive
And Yes I Will Say It As Well!!
Kratom Has Saved My Life!!
In More Ways Than One!!
100% Genuinely True!!
I suffer from painful psoriatic arthritis. Kratom is a literal life saver for me. I do not want to use opioid painkillers over the long term, Kratom allows me to go to work and live a life free from pain.
Restricting this wonderful plant will force me to live a life of chronic pain.
I am a great believer of Kratom. Listen, I have been taking Kratom for the last 10 years and I can honestly say I have only felt benefits both physically and mentally. I have NEVER, NEVER felt any negative side-effects from Kratom.
It is by far the most Strongest Pain Killer In The World. The best anti-anxiety substance in the world. Great for your immune system. Great for Optimal, High Energy Levels. Great for Focus. And Great for overall well-being.
I can go on and on but I have only have a limited text allowance. The W.H.O have absolutely
For Kratom
I have been suffering with extreme debilitating pain for a few years which has forced me to give up working until I can heal and recover. I am highly sensitive to chemical drugs which cause adverse side effects and reactions which go against my health and healing in many ways. Kratom which is a tea has helped me on so many levels, bringing relief from pain and suffering and giving me hope to move forward and get my life back. A natural plant which nature and Mother Earth has gifted to humanity and all beings should not be banned, a natural remedy which helps people with no side effects. Please start to shift into a new way of being and ban the chemical based drugs which have been readily dished out to people for years causing harm and destruction. As a sovereign being it is my right to choose for my health, my life and highest good. Never in history have we seen such sickness on many levels due to the heavy load of toxicity we all face on this beautiful planet. Profit has long been put ahead of health and well being and now it is time for change. We all come into this life with no monetary possessions and we all leave with none, what we do whilst we are here has huge impact. May you start to choose wisely and bring health and well being back into balance, exercising discernment between the truly harmful drugs and leaving the natural remedies and peoples choices as Mother Earth intended. Gratitude, reverence and healing for all life.
The W.H.O have absolutely NO RIGHT to ban Kratom. What would be the point of it??!!
Just think of how much money the National Health Services around the World would save on the uses of Kratom compared to elicit drugs, such as cocaine, heroine, exctasy, speed, crystal meth and other drugs are extremely addictive and detrimental to health AND also costs the National Health Services around the World Billions of £/$/€ a year. A message to the W.H.O please do not ban Kratom. Give it a Chance. Thank You…….
I suffer from Chronic Fatigue and a painful lower back disorder, which the Dr prescribed me Morphine to manage the pain.
When I found Kratom it literally turned my life around. I was bed ridden and in pain and fatigue.
I started to take Kratom and suddenly I was able to get out of bed and get some stuff done, my family life has benefited on a large scale, my kids get to see me and joke with me.
I get to spend so much more time with my Wife and her caring for me has dramatically reduced.
There is no doubt in my mind that Kratom has given me my life back.
I contacted meningitis in my twenties, and since then I have been a complete different man, a stranger even to myself.
Banning of this plant will destroy the new life I have been living these last 10 or so years.
Please think and do a thorough research before acting, many thousands of life’s are now in your hands.
I suffer from schizoaffective disorder which means I have schizophrenia and bi polar together. i suffer a lot with depression and anxiety because of this. Anti depressants dont work and I found kratom to be the only thing that helps greatly. i dont see what trouble it would cause to the user or society at large. Just seems that you will be causing people to suffer unnecessarily. Kratom doesnt create problems socially and I know a lot of ex opiate users have found kratom as a saviour. Please dont ban it, it causes no problems
I have suffered with social anxiety disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression and a whole plethora of mental health illnesses since I was about 14. I am currently 35 years old and discovered Kratom 14 months ago via a recommendation from a friend. Those past 14 months have been the happiest and most stress free months of my entire life. Kratom helps me in a way that no anti depression medication or therapy has. I have tired pretty much everything from approved medication that turns me into an exhausted zombie to CBT therapy. Kratom has worked better for me than any of those things. If you decide to put a worldwide ban on kratom I know these few things for certain. 1. You are affecting people who use it for anxiety and pushing them back towards medication that is more dangerous. 2. You are taking away the only thing that I know for a fact has helped thousands of opiate addicts, many of those addicts who where addicted to drugs like fantanyl etc. 3. You are effectively pushing people back to using banned narcotics. 4. People will still try to buy Kratom but from shady drug dealers who have mixed it with god knows what. Instead of banning a plant that has and is helping thousands of people why don’t you look at banning some of the drugs that the WHO currently treats as legal such as fantanyl that destroys lives. I beg of you do not ban kratom, I am currently the healthiest, happiest and most depression free I have ever been and if you take that away you are condemning me to a life of anxiety, depression and misery.
I agree so much with this comment.
Life saving Kratom.
Don’t ban this great and reliable life saver.
I’m 33 years old
from the UK
For 6 years I have been taking kratom on and off.
My medical problems.
I have osteoarthritis in my spine.
Early-onset MS.
Carpel tunnel syndrome in both wrists.
Depression and anxiety disorder.
In 2007 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my L3-L4 vertebra at the age of 18. My GP put me straight onto tramadol and for the next 8 years they upped the dose until I was on the max dose.
Then I moved and changed my GP who then decided that he was no longer going to prescribe opioids to me. I was not told that the medication was addictive until they took me off it.
Once they stopped it I went into withdrawal and it felt like I was going to die. The withdrawal is like nothing I can describe. It’s like every nurve in your body is screaming. The pain is pure agony. I didn’t sleep for 6 days and only able to fall asleep because I passed out and ended up in hospital.
I then found out about kratom that it can help with the withdrawal symptoms from opioids. It’s not a magic bullet but took enough of the edge off that I was able to feel like I was moving forward.
It helped relieve some of the symptoms and ultimately helped me to get clean off opioids. The only other option given to my by my doctor was going on methadone another dangouse and addictive drug that I declined.
Now I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and in Jan 2020 I was diagnosed with the early stages of MS.
Kratom has saved my life.
Kratom helps with my anxiety and the pain from my back and MS. I was offered opioids by my doctor after my diagnosisbuy I did not want to go down that road again. Kratom helps control my MS episodes with the pain and spasms.
I’m not completely pain free buy enough that I can live my life and have a quality of life.
If it wasn’t for kratom I would be on morphine and other strong medications that are addictive and with nasty side effects.
With kratom I can live my day to day life with minimal pain and feel like myself.
For an example I have a kratom tea 4 times a day. This make me have a quality of life and no need for a cocktail of drugs. It takes around 30min to 1hr to take effect and lasts around 4-6hrs.
It’s not addictive if used correctly like other substances like sugar, caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes they can be addictive if used excessively.
If you take too much it can make you feel sick.
Like other medications it mixed with other illicit drugs and alcohol it can have increased effect but its the same with other medications it comes down the responsibility of the person using it.
Banning kratom would make people look elsewhere to more dangerous and addictive drugs to cope with their pain and mental health issues.
There are more deaths from cigarettes and alcohol worldwide than any other drug and I can get them from any shop. They are known to be addictive and dangerous to health yet they still sell them everywhere. Many places around the world have legalised cannabis and that is known to be dangerous and highly addictive.
Without keatom ,I would be forced to go back onto opioids to be able to live my life.
Surely I have the right to live without being in constant pain.
I hope this is read by someone and taken into consideration please remember that the comments are not just comments they are peoples lives.
Kratom is a natural leaf with nothing added to it. That has been used for centuries by the natives.
I can’t imagine how my life would be without kratom it changed my life for the better where the doctors and the medical system failed me. It would be a massive step backwards in my life. I worked so hard in getting to a stable point in my life where I’m comfortable.
I have never taken illegal drugs, I don’t smoke and I don’t drink.
I hope this is taken into consideration.
Kratom has been a lifesaver for me. Non-addictive, safe and gentle on your system it has supported me through three painful chronic conditions and surgery to address these. It doesn’t get you “high”, you don’t overdose on it and it has honestly saved me body and soul. It has stopped me feeling suicidal and saved me from pain and depression. It really has been a lifesaver.
I suddenly developed severe M.E. fibromyalgia, nerve disorders and various other crippling conditions 10 years ago. I spent most of these years in bed in the dark unable to tolerate light, sound, smells or touch. During this time I was passed from consultant to consultant who each made it worse and tried all sorts of medications that all had hideous side effects and made me worse. I tried almost every holistic remedy and therapy known and although most of them didn’t do any harm, they didn’t help either. Kratom is the only thing that allows me to focus and sit up long enough to work at all. If you ban this wonderful plant my life is not worth living. Besides which, when has banning anything ever made it go away? It just brings it underground and into the hands of criminals who won’t abide by safety standards.
I have used kratom for around 13 years now which I expect is longer than most, and I even recall a time where it could openly be bought on places like Ebay and Amazon. For me, it serves as a natural antidepressant, and having been prescribed real, (chemical) antidepressants which left me feeling like a zombie, kratom really is a breath of fresh air where I feel so much better without any of the negative side effects. I hold a good job, which isn’t impeded in any way by my use of kratom, and I cant even begin to imagine what my life would be like now without it.
I am writing to defend the proposed ban on Kratom. This plant holds the key to saving many lives, especially within the United States due to the current opioid epidemic. It Isn’t just helping ex addicts getting their lives back and integrating back into society, it is helping people who have serious injuries that do not wish to be on dangerous pharmaceuticals that could potentially kill them. As an ex addict my self, I wasn’t addicted to opiates but stimulant medications in my own life, it destroyed all my relationships around me and I lost everything. With Kratom it is easy to control your dosage in most cases, or to taper off to have tolerance breaks if needed. I have been able to reclaim my life and leave addiction behind. Now, I am not going to lie and say that there is zero addiction potential, as some people get addicted to sugary foods or caffeine….there are infinite amount of things that people become addicted to, but should we ban them too. I have run out of kratom before, and although it is unpleasant for a few days, I can whole heartedly say that it has been a life saver for me and my family. I am a father of a 6 year old now, and I am thankful that Kratom has allowed me to live a normal life like everyone else. Something I NEVER believed was possible without the drugs I used. I didn’t use out of recreation, I used to drugs because I couldn’t cope due to crippling depression and a severe back injury. So Kratom helps me to stabilise my mood, allows me to become a part of society as a hard-working citizen. It also treats my severe back injury and PTSD. Imagine how many separate medicines I would need to take to treat all these things. I am not anti medication, but when something natural and safe comes along that can treat all of these things at once, it just seems criminal to totally ban it. I have used it for 5 years now, without any problems. Please seriously consider the impact of what this ban proposes. There have been scientist who have done through tests on it and found it to be safe. I wanted to show you the documentary, but YouTube has removed it. That’s how sad a society we have become. It’s probably been removed because it challenges big pharma. It’s something the treats so many ailments yet it can’t be patented, so instead, we make it illegal, depriving millions of natural and effective treatments that work, just so that Big Pharma can fill their pockets with the REAL DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES THAT ARE RUINING THE USA and the rest of the global society. To say that I am disgusted at the lobyists is an understatement. PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE ON THIS ONE. TRUST THE TESTIMONIALS. We trust you will listen and help all of us who have been blessed with this plant medicine. It’s easy to taper off or lower your dose. Thank you for taking this into consideration.
ADRIAN RILEY
I suffer from severe Arthritis and Depression and having tried prescription painkillers and anti depressants. I decided to try Kratom.
I can honestly say Kratom has been way more effective as not only a pain reliever but a natural anti depressant.
It has enabled me to not only remain mobile, but to feel better mentally.
kratom helped me get over my drinking problem and anxiety,I don’t know where id be without its help.
Kratom has helped me immensely. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder and I have tried several antidepressants including Fluoxetine, Venlafaxine, Dosulepin, St John’s Wort. I currently have to remain on Mirtazapine, which is not ideal, due to the side-effects. However it does help with some elements of my depression, e.g. insomnia and negative thoughts. With other areas, it is not so effective. I find that Kratom fills in the gaps for me and does what Mirtazapine can’t do. It brightens my mood, energizes me and has enabled me to be more social. It also helps with my creativity and productivity, which has made me feel like life is worth living again. I occasionally need to come off Mirtazapine because the excessive weight gain affects my breathing. So I come off it to lose the weight and then go back on it. Kratom is the only thing that helps with the horrible withdrawals during that time. It is amazing for that actually. I use the Green Indo Maeng Da variety to help with withdrawals. It stops the crying, aches and pains, and the feeling of mental breakdown that the withdrawals bring on. It also gives me energy and composure.
Unfortunately, most days when I wake up, I usually don’t feel well. Green Kratom restores a sense of wellbeing to me, similar to how I feel after drinking fresh coffee (but better). Coffee gives me skin reactions so I have to limit it.
I have a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome too. In the UK I have never been offered medication for this except for antidepressants. The doctors and clinicians do not know what caused my CFS. No herbal medicine or supplement has made a major difference except for Kratom. I was so happy when I finally discovered something that worked. I have had CFS for 12 years. It ruined my life. Now I can function, but only as long as I use Kratom. For chronic fatigue, and to help with my poor concentration, I use the Thai Maeng Da variety of Kratom. On a side not, the first time I used it, it actually cured my Aphantasia. For the first time in my life, I was able to picture things in my imagination when I closed my eyes. That affect quickly wore off, but the benefits of energy and vitality have remained. I’ve been using Kratom for about a year. My dose is 4grams in the morning, and 4g in the afternoon. I do that every day. I’m not addicted to it. I don’t feel the need to take higher and higher doses. I didn’t get withdrawals when I stopped consuming it for a while.
I want to say also that I have mild pain all over my body. I’m not sure if it is my muscles, inflammation or arthritis. Doctors don’t know yet, but Kratom benefits me with this pain too. I’m aware of the dangers of long-term use of paracetamol, and even codeine products can be detrimental to health. I personally don’t like to use them anymore if I can help it, because Co-Codamol gives me depression the day after I use it. Kratom’s pain relieving effects feel clean and soothing, subtle but effective. And I don’t get the depression. In fact, I get the opposite.
I would like to acknowledge that some people do make and sell super potent extracts. I have never used them. I only ever use the powdered plant. I can understand why chemically altered extracts might be restricted or banned, but those of us who use Kratom in an appropriate and reasonable manner should not be punished because of the minority who perhaps abuse the chemical properties in this plant.
Please do not wrongly vilify and demonize this plant for the sake of profit. Society should not make the same mistake as they did with Cannabis; only focusing on negatives, twisting the facts, suppressing the benefits… now the truth is coming out as more and more studies are demonstrating the medicinal BENEFITS of the plant. We should be legalizing plants not banning them! Now they are discovering amazing healing properties of ‘magic mushrooms’. Consider that pharmaceuticals are often more harmful in many cases than natural so-called ‘drugs’! Kratom should not be banned out of fear and ignorance. If anything, it should be studied
If Kratom is banned I will have no hope because it’s the only thing I’ve tried in 12 years that has been effective at resolving my debilitating problems. I have spent literally thousands of pounds on supplements and herbs over that period, I’ve tried several antidepressants…all to no avail. please consider those of us who use Kratom wisely and who are continually blessed and relieved by the benefits that this amazing plant has to offer. I implore you do the right thing and continue to make this beautiful natural healing plant legal and available to alleviate our suffering.
Kratom has helped my crippling depression and lack of drive in life. It has supported me to go for what I want in life and can socialise with everyone I want now. Before I would have so much anxiety that I wouldn’t talk to people.
At social events I would drink so much alcohol to get over my social anxiety, whereas with kratom I can just relax and not have to rely on that.
Been to the doctors several times over the years and nothing has helped me. It can aid anyone in life, and it keeps people from using potential dangerous substances.
It continues to help thousands of people live a better life and a life they enjoy.
Put simply, Kratom gives all the benefits of prescription painkillers with none of the side effects.
I was prescribed amitriptyline and codeine. For months I was sluggish, constipated disengaged from life and still in pain.
Kratom gives me pain relief and still let’s me lead a full, active and productive life. Following a number of years kratom use I have recently had a full health check, blood work, liver and kidney function and heart health are all perfect.
This plant allows me to function as a productive member of society, I believe this would not be possible if I were still reliant on my prescribed medicine.
Please, do not ban this beneficial plant, it has nothing in common with the synthetic stubstances it has been bundled with in this review.
I have been using kratom approx 8 years now.I started using it because my son and i had developed dependance then onto addiction on opiate prescription drugs which not only could we obtain legally from drs/chemists but also from other sources.I realised that we were in trouble:i could live with the fact i was cutting my own life short(my sister who is high ranking in the NHS mental health industry was waiting for “that”phone call and that i had taken the final step and it was over for me(i think that may have been my aim tbh). But this was most certainly not an outcome i wanted for my son.I read some fforums and heard the name kratom used as a healthy alternative to opiates. I ordered some and was totally sceptical at how it would equate to opiate regulars. The truth is we were able to quit opiates overnight,no exageration i swear to.We were free and we havent needed to touch an opiate drug since. We continued using Kratom ; due to personal problems we had both experienced ,our doctors had already put us on antidepressants. My son’s son statement at the time was “Kratom makes you feel like you should feel if antidepressants were to do their job properely “He was even able to stop using his medication, also at the same as expuring some personal traumor. And so my son eventually ,approx.10 months ago, stopped using kratom without any problems at all. For myself Kratom has been like a gaudian angel;i experience severe anxiety, depression and ptsd. A few months before covid outbreak,my father passed away and where as kratom had kept me strong and of use ,his passing lead to family disagreements and an insane amount of anxiety and my old behaviour which lead me to using a manner of benzos for self destructive reasons(im ashamed to admit)Once again my sister was frightened to hear the phone ring. I’ll keep this short now,but after months benzos and not really using my friend kratom i woke up and realised what harm my destructive behaviour was having on my loved ones especailly both my children. I decided to quit benzos cold turkey and to use kratom again;i wanted to to return to a balanced state of being. My son was amazed and happilly relieved that i was able to do this, that kratom(considering it doesnt cause highs or drug induced states)safely sailed me through what should have been a very unpleasant experience. My sister was also happy to hear i quit benzos and was using kratom again. But now months later iam back to a steady state of being and thanks to kratom do not feel the need to return to a kamakaze presciption lifestyle.Thankyou for listening and please consider the truth that i have told you because if kratom is banned worldwide, even if you don’t care about a 56 year old man going back to dark places with slippery ropes ;what about the young people such as my son who,and i truly believe have had their health and lives saved by kratom? Please remeber that many people presently, levelled out by kratom safely nourishing their souls, will be seeking some devistating alternatives if it is banned worldwide and seek dangerous, persuits in finding a replacement or replacements!
Around a year ago I was hospitalised after becoming ill due to painkiller abuse, I didn’t think I had a future because the addiction ran so deep but decided to give Kratom a try after researching it. I can honestly say that it has saved my life, I can get through the days without the urge to go out and buy pills, it was all-consuming. I have not experienced any ill effects after using for a year, when comparing to medicine that can be bought over the counter this is far, far less dangerous.
I don’t believe that any person or corporation should be able to ban something natural and think they know better as to how we should live our lives.
Two years ago I was facing the certainty that I would have to leave my job in cardiovascular medical research because of severe generalised anxiety which left me hospitalised twice and destroyed my quality of life.
Shortly afterwards, I discovered kratom and it provided what I needed to rebuild myself- alleviation of symptoms, the mental clarity to engage with therapy and the cessation of antipsychotics (under Dr supervision). I am now thriving at work and enjoy a happy, healthy and independent life. A ban on kratom gives me two options: crippling anxiety or quetiapine-induced brain fog. Either of these outcomes would damage every part of my life.
Kratom is a highly effective tool at combatting mental illness without the side effects of more mainstream medications. Risks are minimised when there are safe and reliable sources of kratom such as kratom.co.uk so please do not ban this life-saving treatment which would abolish safe ways of accessing it.
please do not ban this wonderful plant, i am almost 70 years old and i have severe arthritis and r.l.s. restless legs syndrome and for so many years i was taking prescription pain killers, dihydrocodeine, lyrica pregabalin and oramorph, but after finding kratom i was able to stop taking all these drugs completely. So again please dont ban kratom as without it i fear i will be back taking them again, also kratom is the only thing ive found that relieves me from the nightmare of R.L.S. nothing else helps atall, absolutely nothing, only kratom, please let me continue to get some relief, thank you.
I live in the UK and I don’t really enjoy the effects of Kratom but it has literally given five people I know there lives back. I moved to a new town around 7 years ago, my neighbour turned out to be a functioning heroin addict. Through him I met five other users. I told my neighbour about Kratom and where they could find it online. He and two others are completely clean now. I don’t fully understand how it all works to be honest, but I can testify to three lives being given back because of this plant.
Don’t punish people who need the help of this plant because others take it for recreation or simply to relax (which I personally think is also fine, but I understand this is subjective). I have seen the good it can do for individuals and consequently wider society.
Be kind. Choose love.
This has changed my life, i take it too stop my craving for alcohol, my severe anxiety and depression, without it i would no doubt be back on street drugs or drink.
If a worldwide ban on Kratom is legislated it will be a disaster, potentially for millions of people. There is much reported use of Kratom in the treatment and maintenance of both alcoholics and opiate users.
I personally can testify to the use of Red Kratom for great pain relief (especially as multiple varieties allow for continual switching between strains to avoid ineffectiveness occurring as it does with typical pain killers).
I can also personally testify that Yellow Kratom is the best stress suppressor that I have come across (& as the housing authority here saw fit to move drug dealers next door to me at the start of 2018, it has enabled me to remain calm in the midst of gangsterism & community chaos that results from stupid non-effective drug prohibition strategies that you in authority seem to be deluded enough to believe help communities when they merely help to destroy them by encouraging gangsters to descend over a population who have been left ignorant by the inability to sanely discuss things that are prohibited).
I can also testify that Kratom has helped my brother stay away from alcohol for several years, which has, I’m sure, been a great relief to anyone living near him, as he spent most of his life causing chaos and misery any time he consumed alcohol (having spent many years in prison, decades ago, as a result of his behaviours due primarily to personality disorders acquired from alcohol consumption).
I myself am sick to death of having to deal with incompetent medics who consistently fail to find the causes of my pain, which, without Kratom, would be excruciatingly unmanageable.
Unless the human race is being reduced to the level of compliant battery-hens I do not see the point of even considering banning Kratom. I, for one, will not see much point in struggling on.
Please have some sense & do not impose a ban on this very useful plant.
A Word to our Enemy: we know who runs this realm. We are on to you. We know you want to enslave us all by giving the world only one remedy: your poisonous pharmaceuticals, which only you control and only you profit by.
While the rest of us struggle with destroyed immune systems, decimated digestive tracts, devastating inflammatory response and crippling opiate addiction caused by your frankenfood and lab-engineered palliatives, we who have chosen to educate ourselves concerning our health are increasingly boxed in to an ever-shortening list of natural, un-tinkered-with options.
Now, it’s Kratom on the witness stand, a leaf which has proven over millennia to be safe and effective, and an excellent tool that offers a pain-free respite in order to truly heal from the inside out. And you would take all that away from us because you cannot patent or control it, or dole it out in micrograms, or synthesise it for profit.
It’s understandable; we live in a material realm and you, our enemy, can only fill the hole inside you by controlling more and more of this material realm, including the people who only want to be left alone to be self-reliant and free. But you know that people in perpetual pain make better consumers and we know you aim to keep us in pain, consuming what you allow and dependent forever upon you.
But I say your downfall is coming. You won’t last forever. No one can keep this many plates spinning in the air as you attempt to control everything. Humans will win this war against corporations because the one thing you can never suppress for long is the human spirit and our desire to be free, to laugh without fear, to eat nutritious food and to choose how we address our own healing.
Your days are numbered. Our time is just beginning.
Dear committee of experts. Please consider the following in respect to kratom:
1. How dangerous to the individual is kratom compared to alcohol, which is permitted and celebrated in most societies?
2. How much interest does the pharmaceutical industry have in the outcome of your deliberations, and why?
3. Does the answer to that question raise any questions in your minds as to the science or ethics involved in making your decision?
4. While all drugs, including the proprietary, patented varieties, have their benefits, disbenefits and risks, please deliberate on the actual risks and benefits relating to kratom in the widest possible context.
5. Please consider the moral, ethical and philosophical issues relating to proscribing what the individual decides to ingest when there are no victims of that action.
6. Please consider the very real medical benefits of this drug, aside from the ‘recreational’ use.
7. Please carefully consider your own philosophical position when contemplating restrictions on the use of this natural drug for purely ‘recreational’ purposes. (rather limited I suspect – mostly used for the relief of chronic stress and related conditions)
8 Please bear in mind that the cyclical 12,000 year solar micro nova is nearly upon us and the pharmaceutical industries will be no more after that happens. (Kratom will be very helpful in the run-up and for the very rare survivors. If you have no knowledge of this then you need to brush up on the big picture)
Kratom is a natural herbal remedy which has changed my life for the better. I had trouble with prescription medications and horrible effects from pharmaceuticals. Kratom has helped with my anxiety, depression, insomnia as well as improved my lifestyle both in terms of personal life and professional working life.
Please do not take this away from me. When will governments learn that banning natural remedies is NOT the answer and has never worked!
I’m nearly 66 and have suffered from crippling claustrophobia for decades, without Kratom to relax me I would have had a much, much more limited life, both socially and in the workplace, and I am eternally grateful that it exists. If Kratom is banned then I would have no option but to revert to prescription medication again (originally prescribed by my doctor – then I found Kratom and stopped his medication).
I have suffered from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia for about 6 years now. I have tried a range of medications, each with significant side effects. Even with medications I still have significant impact on my life. Kratom is an literally a lifesaver for me, and it seems for many. To ban this herbal substance would very negatively change my life and there is no medication that could replace it. More medication leads to more side effects and greater negative impact on my life. Kratom is not without side effects itself, but they are much more mild and for me I could remove it from my life, but it would make things so much more difficult. The benefits kratom provides far outweighs any negative, with no comparable prescription alternative. The prescription alternatives have much worse benefit to drawback/risk ratio. Please be sensible and consider the multitude of people helped by kratom, and rely upon it to function in our normal lives. This is not for recreation, it is for survival and a life with dignity.
I use Kratom to help with my type 2 bi-polar disorder. It works way
better than any pharmaceutical medication I have been prescribed. It also
helped me to stop drinking alcohol which was problematic for me. I have
been taking Kratom for the past 9 years, with no side effects.
Overall, the banning of this amazing natural leaf which helps many thousands of
people with various issues, would be a travesty in my opinion.
Banning any plant is a breach of civil liberty’s. Anything that becomes an alternative to pharmaceuticals is dismissed as having no medicinal value.
I’m a firm believer that seed dispersal works in mysterious ways and all we are really doing is carrying out the the plants will. Although I am bias.
H.
I’d like to let those in positions of influence on this matter know that kratom is a harmless but very helpful plant for those who suffer from pain of many kinds, and provides all sorts of subtle effects to help well-being that aren’t available from pharmaceutical drugs. I really hope that you’ll listen to the people who use it and not be influenced by the interests of the pharmaceutical industry. Please consider all our comments and try to be ethical and balanced. There will be pressure from vested interests, sometimes masquerading as concern for health. Please resist and do your own research.
After suffering a work-related injury and having an addictive personality, I soon became reliant on over the counter, codeine-based, medication. This went on for years, gradually increasing in the need. It was a strain on my whole family.
By chance, I came across an article about Kratom and its many benefits, not least its ability to help with addiction. I tried some and never looked back, within a couple of weeks I was off the shop drugs completely. It has given me a new lease of life.
Dear committee, I would like to add my voice to those requesting you do not implement a ban on kratom. Space is limited, but the main reason I am opposed is safety. Kratom is widely used for pain relief, depression and addiction to potent narcotics. Mitragynine is a partial agonist, and unlike it’s more potent alternatives, both legal and illegal, medical literature shows it does not cause respiratory depression. Since it is partial agonist, there is a ceiling on how much effect it can have, and it is only of recreational use to naive users. If kratom is banned, then many people will resort to far, far more dangerous substances, plus I suggest that to plug the gap in the market that a ban will create, chemists will rapidly provide ‘legal’ alternatives that are totally untested and far more harmful.
I personally use kratom to address chronic depression. As such, I consume it during weekdays only, not evening or weekends (my use is non-recreational). While, like all medicines, kratom is imperfect, in several decades it is the only medicine I have found that provides effective and long-term relief to the worst of my symptoms. I have a full blood analysis carried out every six months as I am on anti-coagulants, and the results have been absolutely fine every time – compared to the alternatives, kratom is very gentle on my system. It has saved my marriage, my job, and my National Health Service a great deal of resource. It is simply not in the same class as the other substances on the list for review – they are mostly extremely potent agonists of the target receptor and do not have centuries of use to assess their potential for harm.
To quote from one of the papers I have attached: “Results: Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are the primary psychoactive compounds of the over 25 alkaloids in kratom. Subjective effects are dose dependent: a mild stimulation at lower doses, sedative effects at intermediate doses, and mild opioid-like effects at higher doses. Toxicity is rare and may be due instead to polypharmacy. Abrupt discontinuation after extensive use can produce withdrawal symptoms, but use does not imply overt dysfunction or decreased quality of life. In fact, Kratom has been used by opioid substance abusers as a means of easing withdrawal. Indeed, the use of kratom as a safer choice than opioids is an argument against overzealous regulatory control. Potential therapeutic utility as a mixed-acting analgesic agent, anti-inflammatory, and possibly anticancer agent are currently being investigated.
Conclusions: Kratom or one or more of its constituent substances likely have important therapeutic potential – or as drug-discovery leads – as analgesics, treatment or prevention of opioid use disorder, and possibly other medical conditions. Since its use as a recreational drug is also on the rise, it is imperative that healthcare providers and regulators maintain an open mind and support the need for more basic and clinical research to help elucidate the actual potential medical benefits and potential adverse effects of this simultaneously old, yet new, pharmacologic agent.”
Sadly, it is my view that banning Kratom outright will lead to avoidable deaths in the population of Kratom consumers who will (re)turn to opioid street drugs instead with the corresponding risk of overdose. Kratom consumption alone has not been directly linked with significant mortality or morbidity (In contrast to street drugs). I accept that new research may be needed, but an outright ban at this time benefits nobody and carries adverse significant risk.
Dear ‘Expert Comitee’
I am a man in my mid 50’s. Most people who know me would say I am a considerate intelligent & talented person. Throughout my adult life I have suffered with recurring bouts of crippling depression and anxiety. Apart from the setbacks this has caused me personally in my life and career, the worst aspect of this has been the negative impact that has had on my close family and the people I love. It is impossible for someone to appreciate the real gravity of something like this, unless they’ve actually experienced it first hand themselves, or via someone they’re close to.
When I discovered the plant Mitra Gyna Speciosa or ‘Kratom’ a few years ago, i was pretty much suicidal. It changed my life completely. I discovered that it was massively beneficial in ‘managing’ my reccurring depression bouts, and far more effective than anything I had ever been prescribed by the GP. I do now genuinely feel and believe that this naturally occurring unrefined plant leaf, has had zero negative effects on my health whatsoever, over a period of several years of careful self regulated use. Unlike many prescription medications, which by so many people’s accounts have had long term toxic, imbalancing & damaging effects on them in their similar attempts to ‘be & stay well’. I also have to thank this plant for it’s terrific pain killing properties & for helping me to get through two major operations, as well as the anxiety surrounding that.
I feel mortified and outraged at the potential injustice & lack of understanding apparently surrounding this plant, and that the World Health Organisation might even consider banning it, against the advice or suggestion of the American Food & Drug Administration. It would be an utter travesty of justice & terrible ignorance for it to be placed in a category along with other harmful narcotic substances. I cannot help but wonder what gives the FDA the right to attempt to extend their ‘Influence’ beyond their own borders in the first place, and perhaps would even dare to suggest the FDA might do better to take a look at banning or better regulating the vast quantities of refined sugar (a total poison to the body) in foodstuffs which Americans consume daily while Diabetes and Obesity sky Rocket in the US. Or what about Alcohol, Coffee, Tobacco products and the ludicrous quantity of legally or illegally obtained prescription Opiates ? All of which are substances that alter the chemistry of the human brain, and have the capacity to be highly addictive & very harmful to humans long term ?
Can Kratom be ‘Addictive’ ? yes it can – just like all of the above things can if not treated respectfully & moderately & if consumed in excess, however it’s capacity to cause any harm or dammage to anyone who isn’t being sensible about it, is utterly dwarfed by all of the above.
So I would urge you please to consider this fairly , in making your decision. Why would you want to take away people’s right to excercise their free choice, with regards to self regulated, effective management of their own personal health, well being & mental balance. Why ban a plant that has far more capacity to do a great deal of good, than cause anyone any harm, and is currently helping thousands of people who don’t want to take prescription medications out of choice, to live a much happier more fulfilled & balanced life ?
I would also politely ask you also to consider, that this move from the FDA may have a considerable amount to do with ‘Corporate Market Control’, and very little whatsoever to do with the truth about Kratom, and the benefits that this incredibly useful plant has to offer humans.
Thank you in advance for your fair & open minded consideration of this issue.
For what its worth, that comment was excellent, very articulately put sir!!!
It seems a bit ridiculous to still permit the sale of tobacco (the number one cause of preventable death in the world today) but ban kratom, an at-most niche plant which is essentially entirely non-harmful. Additionally, by doing so you run the risk of setting the field of medicine back decades, as has been seen lately in Psychology, where substances made illegal over 50 years ago are showing promise in treating such disorders as PTSD, depression and other chronic mental health illnesses. This research could have been done then, were it not for the untimely ban on the use of these substances. As far as I am aware, we are still sorely lacking an effective, non-addictive painkiller for severe pain – NSAIDs only treat mild-moderate, and opioids are highly addictive. Why not allow this *plant* to be tested for this use? Consider also that it is comparable to alcohol in its effects – another legal drug that is significantly more dangerous to the health of the world than this niche plant. Even were kratom to become as widespread in its use as alcohol, I severely doubt it would be as detrimental to the health of the world as alcohol is.
I have suffered with depression and anxiety all of my adult life. In more recent years I have been suffering additionally with chronic pains, which travel randomly around my body, and chronic migraines. Not on medical professional has been able to help, be it medication, treatment or diagnosis.
My mystery illnesses disable me in such a severe way I can sometimes be bedbound for days and weeks. It leaves me with no quality of life, plus my family suffer as a consequence.
I am a person who needs to be active, I have a creative mind and enjoy family life and my work. Sadly there is no enjoyment in my life when I am in such a miserable place, in pain and such a dark place.
I discovered Keaton a few years ago, it was like a miracle, I could function again. Not perfectly normally, but enough to be happy and active again. Then Keaton was banned in the UK, I fell back into a terrible way with my health until I found Kratom UK.
Now someone who really can have no idea how much this medicinal and completely natural treatment, is threatening to take it all away again.
Please, whoever is responsible for making this decision, allow people to make their own decisions. I cannot handle the depression and pain, I need Kratom to help me through it all.
Since I have been using kratom I have been able to turn and keep away from my old lifestyle of alcohol and drugs which consumed a good 20 years of my life. I am also now able to keep hold of 2 jobs and progress my life in many ways that would never have been possible without the help of this miraculous plant.
Unfortunately they don’t care about the people and their invested interest in this plant medicine all they want is total control over nature and us. The same has happened with all plants that are entheogen or have entheogen like qualities, they do not want the people to wake up. To me this has been going on for hundreds of years since we knew of women and men being drowned and burned alive persecuted by those as heretics or witches when in reality they were just people collecting herbs and using them in medicine and for their religious benefit, all around the world…
They ‘in power’ in all their organisations FDA, WHO etc will not stop until they have total power over us and we are at their mercy so they can give us what they like. I’m sure kratom as a compound will be used in medicine when they have control of it however they will add stuff to it that’s more toxic or more addictive…
I feel blessed to have come across Kratom though and find it fascinating that it wasn’t made illegal with all the other herbs like Salvia Divinorium/ Calea Zachatechichi/ dried flyagaric/yopo seeds etc.
Using Kratom on the days I work (part time) has helped me to hold down a job and stay off sickness benefits. If it is banned, I will undoubtably have to give up work.
I have chronic fatigue, Facet Syndrome as well as anxiety & depression. I am prescribed Tramadol for pain but prefer not to take it.
I have neurological damage from previous courses of anti-depressants, I am also very sensitive to prescribed drugs.
Kratom is saving my life.
I have been using Kratom for several years, and it is no exaggeration whatsoever to say it has saved my life. Prior to discovering Kratom, I was in chronic pain, clinically depressed, suffering PTSD from a traumatic event, on a great deal of medication, and addicted to many substances, including a serious alcohol addiction. I ended up in hospital 4 times, was twice in an induced coma, in great pain. I lost jobs, almost lost my family, and almost lost my home, due to a combination of pain (both mental and physical), my addictions (opiates and worse) and my behaviours. When introduced to Kratom, I got my life back on track, stopped all drugs, my mental health improved enabling me to get a job, regain my full health and subsequently I only use Kratom, made into tea. I haven’t had a drink in 6 years, I am on no medication and I have a fantastic and stable life. Banning Kratom would, in my view, cause a great deal of harm to millions like me. By banning it, it would cause many others to go back to their old ways, to become reliant on drugs, medication, alcohol etc. Please, please don’t do this. Kratom saves lives. Thank you for listening
Dear reader,
I have become aware of the possibility that Kratom may be made inaccessible to its users.
I personally do not consume Kratom regularly though I have heard the stories of those who do. Many people consume Kratom as a far healthier alternative to opioids for whatever psychological or physics reason, thus avoiding such an addiction. I feel for these people. I ask you, is it fair to restrict them from this avenue with which they can better improve themselves?
I hope you make the choice here, which is true to your morals.
I have been taking Kratom for around 1 year now and I feel so much healthier. I have a history of pain killer abuse, Social anxiety, depression, and OCD. Kratom has helped me beat my pain killer addiction as well as help with my depression and OCD. I wish the people who are trying to ban this miracle plant please just listen to the Kratom community and spend time reading our stories.
kratom has been an absolute god send to me since i discovered it back in 2015 it has helped me with my anxiety and depression to the point that i no longer take any medication whatsoever so if this ban goes through im back to square one.i can’t believe you want to ban the one thing that has helped me and millions of others live a normal life
I’m just saying this: Sertraline helped me I would say about 10% with my depression. Kratom did the remaining 90% with ease. That’s the comparison on of an old depression sufferer. No need for chemicals for the last 3 years. Stop behaving like spoilt kids and let us take what we KNOW works for us!
Dear FDA,
I am a 49 year old UK male. Work professional in the city of London, with a typical salary for the square mile.
It saddens and infuriates me that Kratom is being scrutinised as something it simply isn’t. When will government stop interfering and trying to fix something that isn’t broken?
I have used Kratom for years. Many years. It isn’t a drug!! I used to use opiate pain killers, and kratom isn’t even close, despite the fake news online. It is a mild and clean tea. It relieves mild pain and soothes IBS. It doesn’t get you “high”. It isn’t dangerous. It is a herbal remedy of great importance to me and many others.
Drug addicts, lost souls, do not use kratom. Because it is NOT a drug!!
Are we banning ginger and coffee next?
Without kratom the following will no longer be in control for me:
1/ IBS
2/ ANXIETY
3/ DEPRESSION
4/ MUSCULAR PAIN (long term motorcycle accident pain)
5/ FATIGUE
The NHS spent years getting nowhere with the above for me. Kratom treated these so well I’ve never looked back. I use one or two spoons a day. No euphoria, no problem, because it’s not a “drug”, anymore than coffee.
If this herb is removed from my life, it is going to destroy my health, and hence my income. It will cost the health service and government heavily.
And I’m only one example.
Please stop with the nanny state, and research properly rather than knee jerking.
Have you seen the cancerous ingredients in the food you allow? Please work on that and do mankind some real benefit.
I have racked my mind trying to work out why kratom is being persecuted. It isn’t a drug, and obviously the war on drugs doesn’t even begin to work anyway. So what is left to cause the problem you are creating? The LD50 of kratom is really impossible to achieve right? Even water will be fatal if you take enough!!!
Thank you for your concerns. Appreciate you checking in to see. Am glad to be able to report, hand on heart, everything is absolutely fine here, no intervention needed, all is well and working well. Thank you 🙏
“Kratom has been crucial in helping me cope with an incurable chronic pain disease. On prescribed medications I was bedridden, depressed and unable to work. Since I discovered Kratom, not only do I have more energy, I’m able to work again. It has been a life-saver for me and I’m devastated by the thought that this natural supplement will be taken away. Even the smallest amount of research will show that the majority of people who use Kratom are responsible, respectable members of society who use it to cope with conditions that traditional medicine can’t help with.”
After learning of kratom on some very prominent podcasts last year in which it displayed clear and practical evidence of the benefits and very few potential risks of taking kratom I decided to try it. I did this because I consider my self to be a very high functioning depression suffering person and although I can confirm it tastes awful} I still consume it regularly as it has honestly made me feel like a more complete person again. I have a history of using stimulants like caffeine and ephedra originating from my history as an athlete and I can honestly and objectively say that kratom does NOT offer any of the side effects of jitters and a crash in energy that the aforementioned supplements do. Instead it gives me a sustained gentle boost in mood and energy and a much reduced feeling of anxiety. Unlike other supplements I have taken (I have a very addictive personality) I feel no reliance on it and have no set structure to ingesting it. These factors make kratom feel a lot more natural supplementation intent on helping the person taking it and less of a synthetic medicating drug made solely for profit regardless of its effects of the indevidual and larger society. I am very objective and skeptical of any new supplement due to my vast experience with them and their varied effects across the board, my degree in pharmacology probably helps with this. The placebo effect is something I am very conscious of and kratom seems extremely legitimate in its description and applications. Antidepressants and other pharmaceutical options I have tried have side effects I am not willing to accept personally so this is a far superior option for me and one I feel in complete control of morally and practically. I consider myself to be an upstanding, law abiding, popular member of my community, a good father and husband. And I am a 37 year old working class man from the UK with a carpentry business as my main occupation. I don’t normally priotise my time to writing notes like this on the Internet but I feel the banning of this substance would greatly reduce mine and many other individuals quality of life. I also think it’s worth mentioning that I chose to only buy my kratom from Franz at kratom.Co.Uk after much research and then good experiences as I value mine and my families welfare above all and it’s important that I am consuming top quality safe products. I also believe this is true of the vast majority of kratom users. (responsible, adult citizens that value their quality of life whilst respecting that of others). Also I’d like to add that it very much helps with my sleep quality, thank you for your time, Paul Moore
I have an auto immune disease called Chronic pulmonary sarcoidosis, it makes my body attack itself which leaves scarring on the organs it affects. It also leaves me suffering with crippling chronic fatigue and joint pain. I always feel like I need to sleep and for the last 20 years thats exactly what I done. I have been using Kratom for last 6months pr so amd can honestly say it has changed my life for the better. I have more energy now and it massively helps my joint pain. I have gone from 15 tablets a day to 2 or 4.. My wife and children have noticed a real change in me, my depression has lifted and I’m generally more upbeat and motivated. I Wish I discovered Kratom years ago. To hear it may be banned has deeply upset me and left me fearing for my future. This plant has saved my life and if it goes I will regress to state I was before Kratom came into my life. I was fed up of living with my illness and was at my wits end which led me to look for alternatives to big pharma, as they were just not helping me. Governments will push normal decent folks into the Black market to find alternatives that help their health conditions. Please do not take away this miracle cure, It has saved my life literally!
Since discovering kratom I have stopped drinking alcohol, using amphetamines and have been exercising 3 to 4 times a week now for the past 2 years. I have never had any particular addiction problems but this wonderful natural plant has still enhanced my life and made me infinitely more healthy than before I began supplementing with it. If you take this away from me and all the people in the world that it has helped to get off nasty illicit drugs and even more nasty pharmaceutical drugs then you will inevitably damage the health of millions of lives around the world.
If I didn’t use Kratom on a daily basis, i would without a shadow of a doubt, still be 100% completely reliant on Amphetamines ! Kratom has given me my life back, it stops my Anxiety and severe Depression, it makes me able to get up and go to work and be able to get through the day without many Psychological and physical problems. 23 years of daily Amphetamine addiction has ruined my Central Nervous system badly, Kratom restores my massively deranged damage I’ve done to myself ! 6 years of Kratom use has kept me withdrawn from using Amphetamines ! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON’T BAN THIS LIFE SAVING, AMAZING, NATUAL ANTIDEPRESSANT ! I Never want to go down that dark life sucking existence ever again ! Please read my comment and let me still have my life and NEVER BAN THIS NATURAL WONDER KRATOM. Thank you.
ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia sufferer here. I can get relief from the astonishing pain and fatigue only through high-volume daily Kratom use. Without it I’d be finished. If Kratom is outlawed, the truth is I’ll be writing my will as I simply can’t live for long in such depths of suffering.
On multiple occasions during my half-decade as a Kratom user I have temporarily ceased use (for a minimum of one week – tapering down from 42 grams to zero grams over the course of a few days), to check in on the baseline status of my condition sans symptomatic relief (in the hope that it had improved, although unfortunately at no point had it). Every time I would go through this trial, I am reminded just what a literal living death my life would be without the relief it provides. At one point, when I stopped using Kratom for 4 months, I was mere degrees from suicide throughout, before, finally and fortunately, unsuccesfully attempting suicide when the sheer overwhelming intensity of suffering every day could no longer be managed.
Please see sense and think of the unquantifiable good this herb does for those that need it and can find no relief elsewhere, and the quantifiable value it provides society and the economy.
Hi
I would like to submit my views, along with my personal experience with kratom.
Firstly, it is a plant that has immense benefits with mild effects and overdosing to the point that it is harmful is impossible.
My experience is that it has helped me to stop drinking alcohol and smoking, which has greatly improved my health.
I now take kratom two to three times per week and frequently go for one to two weeks without it with absolutely no side effects. Previously, after taking kratom on a regular daily basis and taking a break, I experienced some mild withdrawal symptoms that did not interfere with my daily life.
This proves that kratom is safe to use and I cannot see any justification for banning such a valuable and useful plant.
With this in mind, I trust that a sensible ruling to maintain the legality of kratom will be made by the intelligent people involved in making this decision.
PLEASE LISTEN!!!
IF the 1000s of people who use kratom in the UK have it banned there will be blood on your hands. All of these people will either have to resort to turning to dangerous opiates or over the counter medication that are so potentially dangerous. Kratom is helping so many people as a safe alternative to dangerous pain killers that are easily accessible over the counter. Why take the choice away when the alternative is so much more destructive than the Kratom? Its either complete ignorance or a hidden agenda such as control or money.
Kratom has SAVED MY LIFE!!! no exaggeration. I left the Army in 2013 with lower limb injury’s needing surgery and P.T.S.D. from service in Afghanistan. Due to my lower limb injury’s I have had opioid pain killers thrown at me from every angle. They have very nearly taken my life several times. Not only because of how addictive they are but due to my PTSD I started using them as sleeping tablets. They brought me to my knees in a circle of guilt and depression. I needed the pain relief but at the same time it was slowly killing me. Then I found out about kratom from a fellow veteran…. I am once again able to function normally and am completely free of anti depressants and dangerous pain killers.
Kratom being available has given me the choice to do what is best for my own health and body. Banning it is going to ruin a lot of lives and this is a fact. It will achieve nothing. Please give let us keep the freedom to choose. if for like me prescription or over the counter medication are causing life changing problems then don’t take away our alternative.
Our future is in your hands
Please listen…

The banning of Kratom would cause more harm than good. This safe and effective plant has helped a large number of people with a wide range of issues, too many to list here.Banning it will push people to look for alternatives which will most likely be more dangerous synthetic chemicals that don’t have any benefits and leave them with addiction.Keep this natural plant legal and regulated.
Kratom has vastly improved my quality of life, as I have suffered from chronic anxiety, OCD and depression since being a teenager. I’ve had dreadful experiences with pharmaceutical therapy, the worst being the side effects of an SSRI pushing me over the edge with suicidal ideation. With kratom, there are no such problems, only benefits. It gives relief from my symptoms and enables me to live my life with more self-confidence and greater wellbeing.
Addiction has never been an issue (whereas being weaned from one anti-depressant to another were always frightening experiences). If kratom were to be banned worldwide, it would ultimately cause a lot of unhappiness, and huge amounts of pain, both physical and psychological. I don’t believe that could ever be justified, by anyone.
I am Bi Polar. I am a 43 year old man who runs a business. I spent years going through the national health system being given various antidepressants and other medications that either did not work or made me worse. I really struggled and contemplated taking my own life on more than one occarion. A few years ago I had a serious life changing manic episode that made it impossible to run my business and ended up with me separating from my wife. It was very scary and looking back it still scares me. There were points in my episode where I was a serious danger to myself. During my manic episode someone told me of the benefits of Kratom. I researched it and found out as much as I could. I tried it and it worked. It bought me down from my manic high and made me functional again. Not only this, but in the following months it also smoothed the heavy depressions that I suffer from. These depressive periods could last for months at a time. Kratrom keeps me level and means I can not only function but lead a happy and productive life. I have spoken to my doctor about it who is wholly supportive of its use. Simply put Kratom is a miracle remedy that helped give me life back.
Hello.
To any “expert” reading this I BEG you: please do not ban Kratom. It has provided an incredible lifeline to me after years of opioid prescriptions.
It has literally transformed my life for the better.
I’m from the UK and am a man of 33 years old…when I was 25 I suffered two broken hips and a knee fracture after a sporting injury. I was subsequently signed off work and prescribed various opioids for the pain…… I was in absolute misery! I built up a tolerance, then full blown addiction, to the pills I was given. I was always nauseous and constipated, and unable to function properly because of this opioid dependency. I fell into a deep depression because of the situation.
Then I discovered this wonderful plant called Kratom. I cannot convey in words how much i value it. Kratom has not only helped me to overcome pain and addiction…. but also helped to massively improve my mental state.
I can manage my pain and work my job beautifully on Kratom …. something that would never have been possible after years of prescription opioids.
I’m implore you – beg you – please do not ban this now. Defer the decision, undertake more research, gather more data and listen to our anecdotes… Kratom has amazing potential and should be developed, not prohibited.
You do not realise the harm and misery that would be caused by doing so.
Lucas Taylor, United Kingdom
I am a 28 year old female and Kratom has improved my life massively. Having dealt with a chronic pain condition (endometriosis) and awful painful periods for years now that resulted in an opioid addiction, Kratom is my only relief. It got me off all opioids and manages my daily pain. It is because of Kratom that I have not relapsed, if Kratom is banned then people will unfortunately be forced to buy harsher drugs illegally and fall back into old habits. That terrifies me. I beg you, please don’t do this to us. We are just trying to better our lives.
Kratom saved my life, I wouldn’t still be here if I hadn’t found it. I have treatment resistant depression & anxiety – no antidepressants have ever worked for me and I’ve been in perpetual suffering for most of my life. Furthermore, antidepressants have horrific discontinuation symptoms. With kratom, I have it a few times a week with regular breaks and it means I can function like a normal person. There are no side effects for me whatsoever, unlike antidepressant drugs where there are so many unbearable side effects.
Very similar to Lucas above, my husband suffered a spinal injury due to an rta in 1995 aged 18. After 15yrs+ on opiates and many attempts to reduce prescription, he now still on some opiates but when these run out has to rely on kraytom until the next prescription is due. They are a life saver for his pain & withdrawal and although we struggle to pay for them, other less important expenses have to be cut to afford these wonderful powders. I daren’t even tell him about this ridiculous act to try to ban a natural healing product used by many people worldwide. Just knowing about this would cause him extreme anxiety which in turn affects the whole family. Have a thought for the sufferers their carers and families. Speak to people who are benefitting every day from this product and would be desperate without it, even suicidal and that is not an exaggeration. Please listen to all these comments before any decision is made if at all. Thanks for reading my post.
I have used Kratom to manage my depression for many years now. It has allowed me to dramatically improve my quality of life. I have gone from being severely depressed and suicidal, to living a fuller, happier life, with a good career and prospects for the future.
I am one of many people that Kratom has helped. In addition to being massively beneficial to mental health, many use it for pain relief that prevents reliance on powerful opiate painkillers. Considering the size of the problem with painkiller addiction worldwide, I find it baffling that a ban of Kratom is being considered.
If Kratom is banned it will result in a massive step backwards for my life. Having worked so hard to pull myself through the difficult times I’ve had, this would be heartbreaking. Banning Kratom will harm a lot of people!
Banning a medical plant that has helped so many people will only add to more suffering for many .If this plant was dangerous then the evidence would be there for all to see .the reason I take Kratom is because I have a long term illness caused by prescription anti biotics given out by doctors and was never treated when I asked them for help .I don’t take any medicines that are experimental and do not have a proven beneficial quality. I came across Kratom a few years ago and have been using it regularly for my illness .To be 100% honest its the only thing that helps me, if this medical plant was to be banned then there would be nothing for me to use to help me get through a difficult time .
It’s strange, to say the least, to have to defend the plant that saved my life. I’m diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder. After going through many types of medication suggested by my doctor, I can confidently say that Kratom is the only thing that worked alleviating my harmful tendencies and offered me the nearest sense of what is like to feel normal contentedness.
In my experience, kratom is not addictive at all. I only take it 5 days a week and other weeks don’t use it at all and had never gone through anything like withdrawal symptoms.
Please, take into account people’s experience with it.
Hi there
unfortunately its always like that: nothing good last long and this time cos some people who can decide what is good and what is not even they don`t have a clue!!! i Can imagine how big pharmaceutical companies are endangered by kratom ! and again yes its all about money!!!! They don`t care about people`s health but profit only! How many people became addicted on opiates prescribed by doctor -the same doctor who later cut them off !!! Well The FDA is run by U.S. government and we do know how corrupted those people are so it`s not wonder that cos they wouldnt have people under control etc.
Kratom: An excellent green tea alternative to coffee.
Kratom is a natural green tea from South East Asia, like many green teas it provides a number of healthy benefits.
As with approximately 85% of the adult population [1][2], I have made use of coffee or other caffeinated beverages to boost my work productivity. However, as with many caffeine consumers, I have experienced negative impact to sleep as a result of coffee and caffeinated drink consumption [3].
In my 10+ years of experience, Kratom has provided an excellent caffeine free green tea alternative to coffee.
For over a decade I have consumed Kratom as a regular green tea alternative to coffee. During this time I have carefully monitored work, life and health impact, and rates of consumption. These observations have been correlated with my personal journal to give a high degree of confidence in the consistency & accuracy of this report.
Observations
I have continuously observed excellent improved energy and focus for work tasks, without any of the jitters associated with coffee. Most distinctly, Kratom has not negatively impacted my sleep quality or quantity.
I have observed a very stable rate of Kratom consumption over a very long period of time, with some declining rate of consumption as I have aged.
As with coffee, I may notice some lull in work efficacy on days I don’t consume. Yet experience none of the unproductive caffeine headaches as found when failing to consume one’s regular coffee.
Conclusion
Happily report long term (10+ years) observation of significant work productivity and sleep benefits. Consumption has remained extremely stable while maintaining consistent benefits.
Kratom green tea provides an extremely clear positive in my capacity to do my work and contribute to our society.

A few years ago I was severely overweight and depressed as a result. I was put on medication which helped a small amount but I still did not have the confidence or motivation to change my life
Kratom changed that completely
At first I used it for my depression which enabled me to get rid of all the toxic prescription medicines I was being given
But it also gave me the energy, confidence and motivation to exercise and lose weight
I’ve lost 3 stone and feel great
I love training so much and now have so much confidence because of the way I look I have become a personal trainer and help others who once felt like me
I no longer use any medication, supplements or strong pre workout stimulants
I have used kratom consistently for 4 years now and have never found it necessary to increase its use due to tolerance or addiction, I’ve never had an issue with withdrawal
Kratom changed my life in such a positive way, I would still be overweight, depressed and lacking confidence without using it
And likely still be using toxic medicines to try and help
I found Kratom was able to relieve a major depressive episode that I experienced a few years back, where anti-depressants failed. I have since been diagnosed with Adult ADHD, and I now realise that the Kratom was probably acting as a stimulant and rebalancing the dopamine in the same way that ADHD medications do. I now take a prescribed stimulant and have found this to be true – it has the same effect. By using both Kratom and a stimulant I am able to take a lower dose of stimulant and I find the Kratom has a balancing effect when taken in small regular doses (3/4 times/day) and evens out what can be a bit of an up and down experience with the stimulant alone.
More studies should be done on the use of Kratom in ADHD and as a psychotherapy/psychology student myself, i intend to look into this further professionally. There are some studies that have been done and †he following link provides quite a balanced view of this and is a good stepping off point for further research. https://www.kratomscience.com/2020/10/20/do-you-take-kratom-for-adhd/.
If anyone else uses Kratom for ADHD or indeed any other Neurodiversity, then I would love to learn more about thier experiences. I was 49 when diagnosed with ADHD and had been using Kratom for several years, not really appreciating ‘why’ it was working for me. Could this also apply to others I wonder?
kratom helped my brother come off of seriously addictive drugs, he unfortunately didn’t have good counselling which I think is imperative to assist with addictions. I use kratom for depression, pain and also energy.
I think that because the FDA, WHO and all other large govt run health agencies are not actually about health but about profit, control and a much more sinister agenda I think this is possibly why they are trying to ban kratom. I also have heard that because of the immense harm that is because caused by the covid vaccines, that big pharma is heading for collapse by 2023. Big pharma controls, or is in bed with the FDA, WHO etc. So it is obvious why they want to ban something which takes away profit from them. If it were about health, why would they not ban fast food, smoking etc.
To the Committee of Experts.
I have a long standing neurological condition caused by compression of nerves which in turn was caused by a benign tumor in my head. Kratom has proven to be the best mitigator of my symptoms without a doubt, and better by far than the mind numbing patented drugs provided by the pharmaceutical industry.
I would recommend that, before banning the natural and wonderful medicine, the committee gazes into their crystal balls to see whether or not they or their loved ones might ever benefit from it. I have no doubt that the pharmaceutical industry would love to have it banned so that they can find an inferior, patentable synthetic analogue to mitragynine and then play their normal extortion game on the suffering public. I also have no doubt whatsoever that they are represented on your committee (covertly if not overtly) which is itself a crime.
By banning the use of kratom you would undoubtedly be aiding and abetting the real and the biggest criminals.
The natural product is fine as it is and it will not be abused any more than patented drugs are. (perhaps less so)
Kratom has been a game changer for me and partner. It helps with fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety which means everything. Its done more for me than doctor has done ever. My tummy is settled too maybe cos my body is working better? Why on earth would anyone who hasn’t even tried it want to ban it? Crackers. Lovely team at kratom head office too! Why do people want to change things that have helped so many where other things (doctor’s pills etc) haven’t
When I was 6 – 7 I was gagged bound, blindfolded and raped as a matter of course by the person supposed to be looking after me.
Now I suffer terribly with C-PTSD, and if it wasn’t for Kratom I would either be dead or playing roulette with fenanyl…..etc
Ban kratom and force people to go black market. This decision will literally kill some of the most vunerable people in this country. The blood will be on your hands.
Prohibition do NOT work. What it has done it manifest a sophisticated global digital black market for drugs that wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for prohibition in the first place! (e.g. Spice)
Furthermore, today it is far easier for a 10 year old kid to get hold of fentanyl (not that they will know..) than alcohol (Alcohol – the drug that’s fine lol). Well done prohibtion how very clever of you.
….Well at least some people are getting obscenely rich from it all (cough, politicians…). That makes me feel better *vomiting*
I`d rather be dead! Insomnia!
Cannot sleep. I tried all possible pills and I am allergic to 99% of them, 1% is so bad, I have doubl vision and strange reactions…yes-i am allergic and this is my life. Everything else is either too weak or doesn`t work. only kratom works-I get normal sleep. I can work, study, live a normal life thanks to Kratom! if you ban kratom it will literally kill me,,,Try not sleeping a month…just try it and let me know how it feels! I`d rather be dead…
This should be a campaign to legalise Kratom worldwide, not ban it! Do you realise how many people this plant has helped since being widely available in the West? People with all sorts of different ailments, ranging from addiction, right through to pain management. I’m going to go as far as to say that this plant has saved lives! Banning Kratom would be the most soulless and corporate move to come from the FDA yet. But then again, big Pharma does not like competition as we all know. The decision they make will affect countless souls. Driving people onto Pharmaceutical and addictive drugs, and removing the freedom which they’ve worked so hard far. Legalise this wonder plant, DO NOT BAN IT!
Since January I’ve had bad, often chronic pain from jaw expanding orthodontic appliances, although the treatment will be beneficial for my health long term, I would not have made it this far without Kratom, especially given the prolonged period of time I’ve had these tremendous jaw, head, neck and back pains. Any other subs taints in pain relief my GP could prescribe me would have destroyed my health after such a prolonged time, regular kratom for pain however, was not only effective but easy to come off when the appliance was finally finished.
CBD oil had some minor benefit but it is obscenely expensive and I’d have to make 5x my annual salary to afford as much as I’d have needed.
Let me be absolutely clear, I made every text book measure to look after myself and minimise pain during that time, daily exercises, standing desk, weekly osteopathy, yoga, meditation and healthy eating, but where it not for Kratom I wouldn’t have made it this far, either that or I would have developed a serious opioid addiction from prescription meds.
A couple of years ago I decided I had to face I had an alcohol problem.
Physically i couldn’t cope with the toll on my body anymore.
The problem was i had nothing i could replace it with after 25 years drinking most days.
I first time i tried Kratom, i knew a lifeline had been thrown to me.
Have i stopped drinking? No…and that was never the point.
I can now enjoy a drink sociably and not feel the need to have a bottle in the house.
When i feel stressed i make some tea and everything is fine.
I may go a week without it but i know it’s there and will not harm me if i indulge.
I could never imagine becoming addicted.
There’s the taste after all…
On this Magical day I joined the Heart Pride and Sacred White StarLions for ceremony taking place on the Sacred Heartlands of SA. Just before we began I spoke of Kratom what has been happening and how this will potentially effect many natural plant medicines if these restrictions are not stopped. I asked for us all to add to our Sacred blessings, prayers and visualisations, Mother Earth and all natural plant medicines which have been gifted to us all by our Earth Mother, holding the vision, intention and vibrational frequencies at the highest level for the best and most positive outcome for the highest good of all. It was a beautiful collective meditation and visualisation seeing the suppression of all plants, natural medicines and natural healing, our incredible Animal Kingdom all released and set free, allowing free will and choices for all without restrictions so all sentient beings may thrive.
Having suffered from extreme debilitating pain for many years, I was overjoyed to discover Kratom teas which have brought me so much relief. I am highly sensitive to chemical drugs which cause adverse side effects and reactions which go against my health and healing in many ways. Kratom tea has helped me on so many levels, bringing relief from pain and suffering and giving me hope to move forward and to get my life back. This is a tea, a natural plant which nature and Mother Earth has gifted to humanity and all beings. This should not be banned: it is a natural remedy which helps people and has no side effects.
We need to start to shift into a new way of being and to ban the chemical based drugs which have been readily dished out to people for years, causing harm and destruction. As a sovereign being, it is my right to make choices for my own health, my life and my highest good. So much sickness is due to the heavy load of toxicity we all face on this beautiful planet we inhabit – what we do whilst we are here has huge impact for generations. Profit should not be put ahead of health and wellbeing and now is the time for change.
May you start to choose wisely and bring health and wellbeing back into balance, exercising discernment between the truly harmful drugs and leaving the natural remedies and people’s individual choices as Mother Earth intended – With gratitude, reverence and healing for all life.
Kratom is the only substance which has alleviated my chronic depression and anxiety which I suffered for 10 years. I consume it daily and it allows me to relax to work (as a designer), which I previously couldn’t due to rapid heartbeat and chronic nervousness. Before Kratom, my ever increasing anxiety amounted to two heart attacks. Since consuming Kratom, my family has noticed a tremendous change in me and I’ve been able to take part in more social events rather than be reclusive. I was also able to work calmly in order to purchase my first home. Life has been great ever since. I really fear Kratom being taken away from me. It’s been a godsend and has absolutely transformed me for the better. I’d be severely affected without it.
I have struggled with drug and alcohol issues my entire adult life, i became sober but was still in constant pain. I was then diagnosed with fibromyalgia which has all the symptoms of a severe cancer, it doesnt kill you but it makes you wish it would. they medication the dr gave me ruined my life. gabapentin turned me into a man that would assault people in the street and attempt suicide on a weekly basis. i cant count the number of medications the dr has given me that not only didnt work but made things so much worse for me.
i was in a place where i would be stuck in bed for 4 days at a time, unable to do my most basic tasks such as wash and feed myself. i was planning my own suicide.
fast forward through weeks of suicide attempts self neglect etc i find out about kratom.
everything changed, i can get out of bed, i can clean myself, i can feed myself, i can go outside and do the things i need to do. its allowed me to go out and do the things i WANT to do. no more missing birthdays and special occasions due to fibromyalgia. kratom just works for this disease. it just works. none of the medicine the drs offer works and theyll never ever even consider alternative treatments, ive gone from being on handfuls of medication to using 2 grams of kratom 3 or 4 times a day. thats all i use. im sober from all drugs and alcohol and because the desperation of my situation has changed i dont even feel tempted.
im very familiar with addiction and how it feels, drugs that compel you to use again.
kratom just isnt the same, its like a cup of coffee. its mild its stimulating and pain relieving.
when i dont use kratom i dont feel compelled to use it or any withdrawal effects, i do feel my physical capability decline due to the fibromyalgia symptoms which in turn makes me spiral into depression and anxiety
WHO and UN would only ban this plant because its curing people addicted to the medicines they sell and promote whether they help the patient or not.
how many years has it taken for us to get medicinal cannabis. it works. the companies that sell drugs and those who prop them up cannot abide the fact that some easy to grow, non habit forming and most of all EFFECTIVE plants are available as alternatives.
i spend £60 a month on kratom. does that sound like an addicts bill? or does it sound like someone using medicine responsibly ? my pharmaceuticals prescribed by the doctor cost more than that in one week.
banning kratom will have a negative effect on millions of people suffering from more conditions than i can imagine, these people like me, have been failed by the conventional medications and have quietly helped themselves and harmed NO ONE in the process.
please dont take away the one thing that works for me. honestly ill probably kill myself or relapse into serious drug use and die from that.
